This is in response to an update I sent to senior leaders within the business about an Apprenticeship & Traineeship program I introduced in 2022. The purpose of building an apprenticeship and traineeship programme was to promote locals to apply and remain at the company to help reduce turnover rates and curb the current skills shortage within the quarrying and mining industry.

The matter was particularly complex as the investigated employee was based interstate and employed as a manager. I had to determine whether the manager was found to be involved in a conflict of interest.
